Episode 108 – Using Personal Development to Overcome Challenges with Shawn Jackson & Dr. Eric I. Mitchell

Part 1:  On this episode, I speak with Shawn Jackson and Dr. Eric Mitchell.  Shawn is an up and coming entrepreneur as the owner of Upstylish: The New Style as well as Big Baller services.  Dr. Eric is  a former orthopedic surgeon, retired Army Colonel and author of The Flow of Life:  Keeping Your Dream Alive as well as Cannabis Sativa the Truth Be Told:  Good Research = Good Outcomes.  He currently is the managing member of Hemp Commodity Industries, LLC based in Maine.  They share their story of how Shawn met Dr. Eric during one of the most challenging times in his life, which included being homeless, broke and in a place where he didn’t know anyone.  Through a chance encounter (although we know there is no such thing as “chance” since everything is meant to be) Dr. Eric took Shawn under his wing and instilled the personal development values in him that he, himself, had learned growing up to help Shawn become the thriving entrepreneur he is today!

Part 2:  Weekly Words of Wisdom – Lynda talks about buying local and shares a couple of stories where she received poor customer service and offers some advice to small business owners about how they can improve on the services they provide to help us want to buy local.

Episode 107 – Embracing Holistic Healing with Karen Creamer, RN

Part 1: Karen Creamer is a registered nurse, speaker, holistic health coach and author of multiple books, including “Honor Your Health: How to use Holistic Healing to Create a Life of Clarity, Comfort, and Connection”.  She combines metaphysical tools with more than two decades of nursing practice to provide partnership and guidance to help her clients get better results in all areas of their lives: mind, body, and spirit.  In this episode, Karen will share with us why she became a nurse and why she embraces holistic healing methods, including the lessons she learned while helping her parents through their own health challenges.

Episode 106 – Soaring Seniors & New Adventures – Rita Losee & Shawn Shambo

Rita Losee is a Registered Nurse and the author of, Soaring Seniors: Stories, Steps and Strategies for Living Full-Out After 50, 60, 70…..  She will share with us the 8 words that changed her life forever to make her a woman of adventure!  After struggling with Lyme Disease for 15 years, she is now thriving at 78 years young and she’ll share what continues to give her a zest for life!

Episode 104 – Man Up to Cancer with Trevor Maxwell

Trevor Maxwell is a writer, speaker, and community builder with a background in newspaper journalism and public relations.  He also founded Man Up to Cancer, which is a helpful and headstrong community built to inspire men — and the people who love them — to connect and avoid isolation throughout their cancer journeys.  Trevor, as a husband and father of two teenage daughters, has been living with stage IV colorectal cancer since March of 2018. On this episode, we talk about his journey with cancer and why he founded this very important company, Man Up to Cancer, which recently started a support group at the Dempsey Center!  This was honestly one of the most touching shows I have done.  I hope you will take the time to listen and help us spread the word about Trevor and his mission!

Episode 100 – How to Overcome Challenges & Still Be Thriving at 78 Years Young with Joan Morton

Lynda celebrated her 100th Living Life with Lynda episode by inviting her mother, Joan Morton onto her show and talking about how she overcame many life challenges including being a young child when her parents divorced, getting married at 15 and having 2 children by the time she was 16, losing her oldest son in an accident when he was just 11 years old, how she worked her way into positions that had her managing multiple small businesses and more!  She will also share why she feels she is still thriving at 78 years young and what she loves about the job she is currently working at!
